Be Weary of Thoughts

There has been an increasing acceptance of intrusive thoughts overtaking us. We laugh at them. We post them. We comment about them. However, 2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV) says: “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” which means we must give our intrusive thoughts to the Lord, repent and replace wicked thoughts with the Word of God. We must allow God to cleanse us and purify us, including our thoughts.

Philippians 4:8 encourages us to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtue and praise. If your thoughts aren’t leading you that way, then we need to be giving them over to the Lord. We should be asking God to help us think His way. We should be asking God to make His thoughts our thoughts.

Why? Because whatever we let fester in our minds and continually think on is what we become. Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) says: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” “Thinketh” means thinking continually.

If you give the enemy an inch, he will take a mile. The same is with your thoughts. If you do not cast down your thoughts and let them continue to grow worse, the enemy will have a foothold over your mind and as I mentioned in another blog post, this what the enemy is after.

Therefore, let’s not let the enemy win. Let’s strive to have the mind and thoughts of Christ.
